DOES GOD HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOUR?

Image
The justification of some Christians that God doesn't have a sense of humour strikes me like a thunder. How do you say a God who created man in his image according to his likeness has no humour? If man does have a sense of humour, so does God. Man's sense of humour may have been somewhat corrupted/perverted due to sin but it doesn't change the fact of the discussion matter. For example, God has intellect just like we do, he is creative just like we are, he feels sad just like we do etc but the sinful nature can make us misrepresent the true nature of God. If God has no sense of humour, I think we should question where man got his. Our sense of humour may not exactly be the same because there are some despicable things human find funny that God will not find funny. A joyful, cheerful heart brings healing to both body and soul. But the one whose heart is crushed struggles with sickness and depression. Proverbs 17:22 TPT The latter part explains what happens when your heart ...

THE TRANSITION

Grief is one things life will throw at us. Nothing breaks us more than loosing someone you deeply love or admire. I've lived this week seeing people i admire and the loved ones of my beloveds leave the earth and it got me thinking about how fickle life is. There's absolutely nothing wrong with grieving even as a Christian. Lost someone special? Please grieve, cry, do all that you need to feel better; no one will hold it against you. There's no one way to grieve, people grieve differently. So, do all that you need to get past this stage of your life. Death can be tragic and sorrowful because you know the only thing you have to hold on to about this person are the memories you've created with them. As sad as you may be while grieving, never forget that if this person was in Christ before their departure, they are in safe hands. Therefore, grieve hopefully knowing that one day, you both will high five, hug and smile at each other in heaven....

THE CHRISTIAN LIFESTYLE

Christianity being perceived as boring is one of the things that makes me cringe. I used the word "perceive" because in it's true sense, it isn't; just that many people have portrayed it go be "boring". Quite a number of people believe that Christianity, being cranky and condescending go hand in hand. We haven't portrayed the Father the way we should which is quite disheartening. Anyone can be boring but does being a Christian mean you have to be boring? No! In this current world, we feel the only way to have fun means doing the worldly things (pre-marital sex, binge drinking, etc). Of course, as a Christian, you know what the scriptures says about the things I previously mentioned. But are those the only way to have fun? Of course not. I think I'll one day write on the several ways Christians can have fun. Christianity is many things but not boring! The Christian life is exciting because of what God does through anyone who surrenders to him. I'm...

BEAUTIFUL IN JESUS

Self-esteem is certainly one thing to always talk about, most especially now that social media puts a threat on it these days. What goes through your mind when think of someone with a low self-esteem? It's amazing how many of the low self esteem problems starts at a tender age. It can be tormenting and torturous as you grow older with it. Many feel they're never good enough because of low self esteem, hence, they seek validation everywhere possible. Low self-esteem comes with timidity and insecurity but these are two different words many people love to use together when it comes to low self esteem but are different. Timidity refers to shyness; a fear of social interactions while Insecurity  refers to self doubt or the lack of confidence in one self. Timidity is what comes as a result of insecurity which best describes low self esteem. People dealing with insecurities feel an intense pressure to bend to the expectations of others and most importantly avoid ...
