MY NEW FOUND LESSONS FROM THE STORY OF RUTH

Image
Before dropping my "church goer" status all in the name of being a Christian, whenever I heard the story of 'Ruth', there's only one thing that comes to my mind - "The woman who was willing to die with her husband's family". In my (Yoruba) tribe we call such person 'Abokoku'. Somehow, I didn't see anything worth studying or emulating about the life of Ruth - because it felt stupid for one to leave her entire family all in the name of commitment (Well, my subtle hatred for men was responsible for this thinking). Coming into Christ, I have not only seen the beauty in the life of Ruth but I have also learnt very important things that can be applied in our every day life. Ruth was a initially a widow who made a lifetime decision to forsake her people, country, gods etc. In my view, it takes someone to have tasted a better life for them to abandon his/her people, country etc. Ruth was a Moabite, these people committed several atrocities and ...

Struggles will show forth One important thing to note is that in the process, struggles will come, failures may come. But never be afraid to take a risk, because as children of God, you have an edge! - the Gospel edge – which will enable you to respond to problems and failures with uncommon hope and boldness. Self-worth This is often something creatives generally deal with. The feeling of having to deal with ...

Romans 8:28 NLT Finding purpose is absolutely one out of the many things that gives the human race a great concern. "What is my purpose in life?" is a common question we ask ourselves. It can be very frustrating to see others do tangible things while you're there looking purposeless. A lot of people go about living their lives with the thought of "I have no purpose on this earth". But that's a big lie from the pit of hell. God didn't create anyone without a purpose. Did you think God's hands became so itchy that he decided and said "Oh, I'll just create this human to roam aimlessly on the earth?", Of course not. Knowing that you didn't put yourself on this earth with the assurance that there's definitely a superior force behind your existence should propel you to know why you were put on th...
