YOU HAVE A PURPOSE

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

Romans 8:28 NLT

Finding purpose is absolutely one out of the many things that gives the human race a great concern. "What is my purpose in life?" is a common question we ask ourselves. It can be very frustrating to see others do tangible things while you're there looking purposeless. A lot of people go about living their lives with the thought of "I have no purpose on this earth". But that's a big lie from the pit of hell. God didn't create anyone without a purpose. Did you think God's hands became so itchy that he decided and said "Oh, I'll just create this human to roam aimlessly on the earth?", Of course not. Knowing that you didn't put yourself on this earth with the assurance that there's definitely a superior force behind your existence should propel you to know why you were put on the earth. It's a plus for you when you're in Christ, it's a plus for you because you are in a relationship with the one who has created you for a purpose and as you walk with him, he begins to show you that which he created you for.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

Ephesians 2:10 NASB

The following can be drawn from the above scripture;

  1. You were created by God. There's nothing like you being an accident or born by mistake. Even if your parents never planned for your birth, men may say that you were born by accident but God is saying that you are not. You are his workmanship, his masterpiece, fearfully and wonderfully made.
  2. God has a purpose for your life. Before you were born, he already designed everything and set out a plan for your life. You were created for his good works.

                                 Hallelujah!!

You were created to get into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

John 14:6 NLT

You were created to glorify God in all that you do

Bring all who claim me as their God, for I have made them for my glory. It was I who created them.’”

Isaiah 43:7 NLT

You were created to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:19‭-‬20 NLT

You were created to use the talents/gifts God gave you for his glory. There's no one on earth without at least a talent. You only need to discover what it is/what they are. You are expected to develop the talents given to you by God (Matt 25:14-30) and also determine your passion.

Do not be angry when it seem like your role in the body of Christ isn't taking prominence, do not compare yourself with others. He or she isn't you neither are you them. Although, we are called for different purposes as people who are in Christ but the major thing that brings us together as one and makes us similar is our goal of making Jesus Christ known in all the ends of the earth. If you are yet to know your purpose or you feel stuck, pray, and study the word. You may not find the specific scriptures that will tell you "Oh! You should be a singer or a doctor or a coach" but you'd begin to understand the heart of God towards you.
