PRAISE DOES IT, WORRY DOESN'T
Worrying about a situation is as easy as praising through a situation, it's a common temptation we face as believers. Praise and worry literally consume the same energy, only that the energy is towards two different directions making one negative and the other positive. Worrying multiplies your problem while praising/praying gives you immesurable peace in Christ. Keeping your worry tabs open gives access to the enemy to penetrate into your life. More like you create an atmosphere for him to take a chair on the discussion table in your heart and join the conversation going on in your head. Worry never solves anything. (Can all your worries add a single moment to your life. Matthew 6:27 NLT). I've learnt not to stress or put self under unnecessary pressure when I know I'm not in control or can't control a situation. My advantage is that I know someone who is in control of the situation. Therefore, I put myself to sleep; I rest in his arms, leaving everything to his care. Jesus told us not to worry quite a number of times in the bible, not obeying this will simply make you disobedient to his command.
Worry can affect your health, putting you in a position God doesn't want you to be - a position that doesn't glorify him. Philippians 4:6-7 explains what's expected of us as Christians when in a fix. Why worry when you can behold Jesus? Why worry when you can pray about It? Why worry when you can praise and thank God - counting your blessings?
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7 NLT
When you worry, you're simply communicating one major thing to God and that is; "God, I can't trust you with this situation, I'll rather deal with it myself.". You're telling God you distrust him and probably even know better than him, which makes you more of a clown by the way.
Every day comes with its own problem. How many do you want to deal with by yourself?
“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
Matthew 6:34 NLT
Worry cripples your productivity and snatches your joy. Let the peace God promised you get to your reach by channeling your energy on the right things. Think about the right things the word of God mentioned:
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
Philippians 4:8 NLT
.....Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Instead of feeling your heart with junk, fill it with the above mentioned. Praise God while you are in the hallway expecting that miracle to happen, pray about the situation, thank him for his grace, love and mercy; do not let the enemy steal away the joy you deserve. Truth is, you will never run out of things to worry about, but you can choose to trust God no matter what.
I recommend that you listen to Confident by Steffany Gretzinger. I pray it spurs you to pray about that situation, praise and thank God for all that he is.
Eiiiii, thank you for this reminder, sis. God bless you.
